The SimpleStencil product
A. Simple Stencils are pre-pasted, pre-spaced, individually laser cut out letters that press on your wall or any flat smooth surface (glass, metal, smooth stone, plastic, etc.). Once applied with our easy to follow instructions, the letters are the only thing remaining on the wall or surface. The letters are very thin, equivalent to about 3 coats of paint and have a beautiful matte or satin finish. The above properties give the letters the appearance of being painted on without all the mess, skill, creative limitations and time that hand painted stencils require.
These are not decals with a clear film around the letters, but rather individually cut out letters that have been pre-spaced for you. Applying the Simple Stencils is as easy as removing the backing and pressing to the surface where you would like it. Please visit our Simple Stencil Instruction page for more details. Each order is custom made to your specifications and arrives with easy to follow illustrated instructions, installation tool and a free practice word which makes it Simple to add your own creative meaning and personality to your space!
A. Pre-spaced means that we cut the letters and send them to you with all the positioning and spacing of the letters and words for you. The lettering will arrive as you see it on our site or as you have designed it in our design center. Your order will arrive as a single roll of lettering which you will apply as one piece. (some larger sized pieces may already arrive in multiple sections for easier install).
A. Yes, you can also cut the sheet of letters into as many pieces as you choose to make the quote into multiple lines, etc. You can even cut each word / section apart to install them in your own creative layout to fit your style or space. The possibilities are limitless! (Some larger sized pieces may already arrive in multiple sections for easier install).
A. The lettering will arrive in three layers (the top application tape layer, the letters themselves and the stiff paper backing paper). You will simply peel away the backing, apply the top two layers to the surface and rub down with the application tool. Lastly you peel away the top application tape layer to leave only the beautiful pre-spaced letters on the wall. It's really that simple!
We send a Free Practice Word (of your choice) with every order so that you can practice the install steps as well as make sure the surface is suitable for your lettering prior to install.

A. Simple Stencil lettering is self-adhesive and will remain stuck to any smooth or semi-smooth surface for many years. This includes painted walls, glass, mirrors, smooth plastic, metal, tile, and smooth wood.
Simple Stencils will not stick well to materials such as untreated rough wood, cinderblock, brick or paper. (Cinderblock works well if the blocks have enough layers of paint which creates a smoothness. This is often the case in schools, hospitals, etc.)
Light to medium textured walls work great for Simple Stencils and the texture will show through the lettering so it still appears as if it is painted on. Highly textured walls however do not work well with Simple Stencils. If you are in doubt about your surface, please request a free sample to test prior to placing an order.
A. We carry over 40 beautiful matte finish colors including some satin metallic colors. See our color chart for all the colors we offer.
Because all computer monitors display color a little bit differently, the colors that appear on your screen may or may not be an accurate representation of the actual SimpleStencil Color. If you have a specific color in mind that you are unsure of, please request a free color sample.
If you have a specific color you are trying to match and you cannot find an acceptable match with our standard colors, please contact us with the color specifics (see criteria below) and we will check our stock for a closer color match.
Many additional colors are offered in a premium material that is available only upon request however please keep in mind there is a considerable price and time increase when ordering special colors.. If you have a particular color in mind, please contact us with the color in one of the following formats so we can attempt to match it with our stock and send you a price quote and/or color sample to try.
Special Color Request Formats that we can attempt to match:
A. Yes, and it's simple to do! SimpleStencils work well for renters and homeowners because they can be removed from the surfaces when you are ready without damaging the underlying surfaces.
To remove, simply peel up a corner of each letter with your finger nail or tweezers and gently pull off the lettering. If you have had them installed on the wall for a long period of time or if you find they are difficult to remove, you can warm them up with a hairdryer prior to peeling them to make the job easier.
A. We can cut your logo or any other creative ideas you have into a SimpleStencil that you can use for advertizing or display purposes. They work well on storefront windows, vehicles, sign blanks as well as your walls.
If you have a logo / graphic in one of the following vectorized formats we can cut the file without any clean up charges. Just email the file to firstname.lastname@example.org along with any criteria about the size, colors, etc that you would like the SimpleStencil be and we will make it available for ordering in our catalog. (Please note the file types below would need to be vectorized and / or have the font embedded into the file for us to be able to cut it appropriately).

If you don't have the logo/graphic file in one of these formats, you can send us a picture file (jpeg, tiff, etc.) in as good a quality as you have available and we will be able to trace and / or re-create the file in a format we can use. We will notify you if there will be any charges before we begin work for very intricate designs.
If you are unsure of the file types you have available...just send us what you have and we will contact you if we have any questions.
A. Yes, we have an easy to use online Design Center that allows you to type in your own text and preview/order it in a variety of colors, sizes and letter styles.
If you want to display your lettering in multiple lines, simply use the [Enter] button on your keyboard to move your cursor to the next line, finish typing in your text using as many lines as you wish until you get your lettering exactly as you would like it. The design center will give you a preview of your design as well as a price for the style/size/color you have selected.
The design center will also display the length of the lettering based on the letter height and style you select. Make sure to check the length of the lettering to make sure it will fit appropriately in your space. If the design is too long, you can break it down into more lines or choose a smaller size and/or letter style.
Placing an Order
A. Credit Cards
You may pay online with any major credit card using PayPal easy checkout. For your convenience, it is not necessary to have a PayPal account however you can choose to pay with your PayPal account (if you have one) should you decide to. Our shopping cart will guide you through the easy and safe process step by step.
Gift Certificates / Store Credit
If you have been the lucky recipient of a Gift Certificate as a gift or contest winner, you can use this payment option at checkout by entering the Gift Certificate or Store Credit #.
Check or Money Order
You may also pay by personal check or money order. Checkout instructions will instruct you on how to do so as well as give you details about where and how to send payment.

A. For orders within the United States, we ship the following ways:
USPS First Class - Flat rate of $5 for all orders, with orders over $75 shipping free using this method. A tracking email will be sent to you when the order ships and this method generally takes from 1-8 delivery days to arrive.
USPS Priority Mail - Flat rate of $10 for all orders, with orders over $100 shipping free via Priority mail. A tracking email will be sent to you when the order ships and this method generally takes from 1-3 delivery days to arrive.
USPS Express Mail and Rush Service - If you have a special event or need your order by a certain date. We also offer a Rush service which will expedite your order to the front of the production line and ship your order via Express (most destinations this is an overnight shipping method while some places require 2 day delivery). This rush service is not always available and prices vary based on our production load, location and size of order. If this option is available it will be given to you as an option during your checkout process of the order.
For International orders, we ship via USPS First Class International mail. We charge a flat rate regardless of order size that are based on your location and range from $10.00 - $25.00 depending on your Country. You will be able to determine shipping rates during the checkout process before you place your order.
** Please note, when all orders ship we will send a shipping confirmation email to the email address you give us during the check-out process. This email will contain important tracking information that will allow you to track your order online at USPS.com. If you don't receive this email by the estimated shipping date given in your order confirmation email, please check your spam folder before contacting us.

A. Credit Card, PayPal, Gift Certificates, Store Credits and Purchase Orders
Your SimpleStencil order will ship out within 1-5 business days after you place your order when paying online via PayPal with a credit card, using a gift certificate or Purchase Order.
If you pay via PayPal with an e-check, the order will ship out within 1-5 business days after the e-check has cleared your account which generally takes 2-5 days.
Check/Money Order Payments
With a money order or cashiers check, your order will ship out within 1-5 business days from the date the money order is received. Personal checks however will take longer as we must wait until the check clears your bank before the order is shipped. Once the personal check has cleared, the order will ship within 1-5 business days.
If you would like your order to arrive in time for a specific date or event, please contact us and we will do our best to expedite your order.
International Orders are subject to customs delays and duties which can involve up to 1-3 weeks in transit which is out of our control.
A. The Simple Stencil will only charge sales tax for merchandise ordered on this website that is shipping to a Florida address.
A. We make every attempt to check and double check each order for any manufacturing defects before the order is shipped however if your order arrives damaged or defective, please contact us or return the order to us for a full refund or replacement.
If you receive your order and have decided that you no longer want the item as ordered, it can be returned to us in new condition for refund of purchase price. Original shipping and return shipping costs will not be refunded. This does not apply to custom orders made using the design center, or if we are otherwise working from your own design.
Due to the volume of sales, we cannot be responsible for any customer spelling errors on custom orders. Please double check your spelling prior to submitting order.
A. Yes, we do offer free color swatches. Simply browse our Color Swatch Request Form and select the color(s) you are interested in and we will mail them out to you within 1-3 working days.

Terms of trading, etc.
The Simple Stencil is dedicated to ensuring customer satisfaction so if for any reason you are not satisfied with your purchase or your product is defective in any way, you may return the product, within 30 days of purchase to The Simple Stencil, P O Box 358998, Gainesville, FL 32635-8998, USA. Upon receipt of returned product, The Simple Stencil shall either provide you a credit for future purchases (less shipping and handling) or, in the event of a defective item, your option of a complete refund of the purchase amount including any shipping charges, or a replacement of the faulty item shipped at our expense.
Please note that custom orders can only be returned if defective in materials or workmanship.
